01Scope
NAILU respects your privacy when you use its AI nail design app and website. This policy explains collection, use, sharing, retention and deletion. Provisions for identification, location, portraits or audio apply only when the corresponding feature is actually offered and used.
02Information collected
You may provide account and contact details, support messages, hand and reference photos, prompts, selected styles and saved designs. We may collect device and OS details, IP addresses, activity and error logs, cookies and similar identifiers. External login, social, advertising, analytics and app-store services may provide information within your permissions.
03Purposes and legal grounds
Information supports generation, previews, saved designs, personalization, troubleshooting, service improvement, purchase verification, customer support and notices. Where lawful, we send promotional messages and prevent fraud or prohibited content. Processing relies on contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests or consent as applicable; required consent is obtained.
04Sharing
Hosting, storage, analytics, support, marketing and AI processors may receive information needed for their services under appropriate safeguards. Services with advertising may share relevant information with Google AdMob, Facebook or AppsFlyer. Disclosure to public authorities may be necessary for legal obligations, fraud prevention or protection of rights and safety. Required consent is obtained.
05Choices and rights
Unsubscribe from marketing messages or contact us. Manage cookies in your browser and photo, camera, notification, location and advertising permissions on your device. Some functions may be limited. Subject to applicable law, request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection or withdrawal of consent at privacy@nailu.jp. Identity checks may be required; legal restrictions will be explained. You may contact your data protection authority.
06Security and general retention
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards include access controls and encrypted communications. No online transmission or storage is completely secure. Information is kept only as needed for service delivery, support and legal duties, then deleted or anonymized. Specific image and AI retention limits below continue to apply.
07International transfers
Information may be stored or processed outside your country, where privacy laws differ. We use safeguards required by applicable law, including contractual protections or consent where needed. Contact the privacy address for information about transfers and protection measures.
08Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Higher local age limits or parental-consent requirements apply where required. Contact us if a child has provided personal information so that we can investigate and take appropriate deletion measures.
09Photos and facial information
Hand and nail photos are used for requested previews and generation. They are securely stored and accessible only to you in the app, with necessary processing by AI providers. We do not sell photos. Uploaded images are automatically deleted from NAILU servers within 30 days. Copies saved to your device or shared elsewhere are managed there. We do not collect or retain Face ID data or identify people biometrically. Portrait features, where offered, may analyze visible facial features only for effects or recommendations, not identification.
10AI identification and analysis
Where identification features are offered, uploaded images may be analyzed to identify plants, animals, insects, objects or other relevant subjects and provide related educational information. NAILU analyzes hands and nails for nail previews. Identification images and results may be stored securely for personal collections and accuracy improvements, subject to the photo-retention and training limits in this policy. Sharing is limited to what is necessary to provide the service.
11Location
Scanning features using location may collect it with permission to improve regional identification and location-specific information. It may be stored with scans and is accessible only to you in your collection. Disable access in device settings; this may reduce identification accuracy. This does not mean that location is required for ordinary NAILU nail generation.
12Subscriptions and payments
Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat or other applicable payment providers process purchases. NAILU does not store payment card details. We may retain purchase records, plans, expiry dates and subscription status for access, restoration and support. Manage or cancel subscriptions in the store used for purchase; deleting an app or account does not cancel subscriptions.
13AI processing and providers
Prompts, uploaded media and necessary settings may be sent to AI infrastructure providers only as technically necessary to generate your requested output. Depending on the feature, providers may include OpenAI, Google, BytePlus or Kling; not every provider receives every input. Common service provisions also list fal.ai (Wolf Mountain Labs Inc.) for style prompts and lyrics used with Google Lyria and MiniMax audio models; Replicate Inc. for lyrics and audio in song or voice covers; and Meta Llama API (Meta Platforms, Inc.) for text prompts used to generate lyrics. These audio provisions do not mean NAILU sends nail photos for music generation. NAILU does not use personal prompts, uploaded files or generated content to train proprietary models. We require appropriate enterprise privacy and processing terms; the listed processors return requested outputs and do not train their models on those inputs. NAILU and AI processors may retain prompts and generated metadata for up to 30 days exclusively for safety moderation, prohibited-content reports such as deepfakes, and app-store safety compliance.
14Synthetic media safety
Generation requests use SSL/TLS encryption. Requests may be checked for prohibited content and abuse. Do not submit identity documents, private financial information or similarly sensitive information. Respect other people’s rights and privacy when using their photos.
15Training and improvement
Identification services may use aggregated, anonymized information and results to improve accuracy without personally identifying data. Individual photos are not used for training without explicit consent. The prohibition on using personal generative prompts, uploads and outputs to train NAILU’s proprietary models still applies.
16Account and data deletion
In the app, open Settings or Account, select Delete Account or the equivalent, read the warning and confirm. If unavailable or inaccessible, email privacy@nailu.jp with subject “NAILU account deletion”, the app name and registered email or username. We verify identity, process deletion and confirm by email. Do not send passwords. Deletion removes account data, saved content and preferences and cannot be undone; save necessary images first. Uninstalling stops use on that device but does not delete server-side account data. Cancel subscriptions separately in the app store. Legally required records may be retained only to meet those obligations.
17Policy changes
We may update this policy as services or legal requirements change. The updated text and date will be published here. Additional notice or consent will be provided where legally required.
